Gas load shedding will continue from 15 October, 2022 to 15 March, 2022. As per federal petroleum secretary in some areas of Pakistan reserves of methane gas are available but government can not start the drilling due to lack of investment and security issues in these areas. He also make it clear that soon the price of gas will be increased as government can not sell LNG in 3 dollars after buying it in 40$. Now NLG will be provided to only those consumers who will pay the full price of the gas.

Natural Gas Load Management Schedule in Pakistan For Winter 2022-23

According to another news, natural gas will be provided to domestic users only for 6 hours a day in the coming winter season. First at the morning time sui gas will be given from 6.30 AM to 8.30 AM for breakfast preparation and then at the noon natural gas will come in houses from 12 PM to 2 PM for preparation of dishes for lunch and in the evening gas will be provided for dinner cooking purpose from 7 PM to 9 PM.

Now it is crystal clear that in future Pakistan will have to rely on imported LNG and LGP. Pakistan is unable to import cheap gas from Russia and Iran due to international sanctions on these 2 countries. So at present Pakistan can just rely on Qatar but due to Russian Ukraine war, Russia has stopped the gas supply for European countries and now all these countries are trying to buy LNG from Qatar. That’s why the LNG and LPG prices have increased in the international market. Its the old issue of demand and supply which has again become the root cause of increasing gas prices. New huge reserves of gas have been discovered in Australia, New Zealand and America and it is expected that due to these new discoveries the supply of gas will increase in next 3 to 4 years. SNGPL and SSGC both are trying their best to discover more reserves of natural gas in Pakistan so take rest and hope for best.
