Background of the British Monarchy.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh were the parents of King Charles III. He has been Duke of Cornwall & Duke of Rothesay since 1952. His godparents were the King’s cousin Prince George (later Duke of Kent); Princess Marina Duchess of Kent (the King’s aunt); Patricia Mountbatten Countess Mountbatten of Burma (the King’s second cousin once removed and Philip’s maternal first cousin); and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (later Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne; the King’s maternal aunt).
